New York University Establishes Center For Psychedelic Medicine With $10 Million From MindMed, Philanthropists
Forbes, Feb 25, 2021

At the new Center for Psychedelic Medicine at New York University (NYU), scientists and doctors will continue their work on psychedelics (such as ketamine), with a special focus on psychiatry, medicine and pre-clinical research.

It will also create a training program dedicated to psychedelic medicine. In the last 13 months, interest in psychedelics has increased significantly: in January 2020, researchers at Johns Hopkins University launched the Center for Psychedelic and Consciousness Research. Just last month, the Mount Sinai School of Medicine announced that it had launched the Center for Psychedelic Psychotherapy and Trauma Research.

The volume of research in this area will continue to explode and there will be a great need for researchers with the training and experience to carry out clinical and basic research in this area.
