RTP: “Infarmed has just approved public funding for the first medication containing ketamine, a psychedelic, to be used in a hospital setting for adults with severe depression.“
According to RTP, the decision appliesto to patients who did not responded to at at three treatments different with antidepressants. Esketamine (Spravato) will be used in combination with an SSRI or SNRI, during episodes depressive moderate to severe, especially in cases where there is resistance or contraindication to electroconvulsive therapy, or when this is not is accessible or has been denied.
