This scientific article, published in JAMA Psychiatry, reinforces the importance of the possibilities offered by Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy in the treatment of depression.
Summary: Many of the drugs used in medicine have on- and off-label indications that cut across different medical disciplines. Ketamine has scientific evidence for emergency and non-emergency anesthesia, chronic and acute pain and depression. For some of these indications, ketamine is used in both adults and children. Ketamine is also being studied, whether or not assisted by psychotherapy, for other neuropsychiatric indications, including anxiety, addiction to alcohol and other substances and post-traumatic stress.
