Sara: "I've come to love living intensely and making progress every day."

Sometimes "the greatest act of courage is to ask for help", Sara (not her real name) told us. That's what she did when, struggling with resistant depression, she came to The Clinic of Change after many years of "no expectations" and "nothing working". Psychedelic-Assisted Psychotherapy then came into her life "like a ray of light" that brought color back to her previously gray days. "Now I enjoy living intensely and making progress on a daily basis," she concludes, with a word also for the professionals who accompanied her during her treatment: "They make a difference in the lives of those who think they no longer matter."

Read Sara's (fictitious name) full testimony about her experience with the Psychedelic-Assisted Psychotherapy program at The Clinic of Change for resistant depression:

One day I read that the greatest act of courage is to ask for help. It was in that cry for help that The Clinic of Change came into my life and I embarked on the Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy program.

I felt like I was on a drifting boat, with no prospects, since I had tried so many treatments, so much medication and nothing worked.

Resistant depression, incapacitating decline, no expectations, no hope, unable to work, successive sick leaves, not allowing me to do the most basic things, plunging into darkness.

The Clinic of Change came into my life like a burst of light, a radical change, where life took on color.

I entered the program curious, but hopeless after so many failed and frustrated attempts. And I left with tools for life.

Before, I felt like a failure in my own eyes, in my thoughts, actions and deeds. Now I enjoy living intensely and making progress every day. With treatment, we can overcome depression, it's a change for life.

The professionals at the clinic took a chance on me when I wouldn't have. It was a treatment that changed my life. I'm grateful to the whole team for their care and affection. They're exceptional, they make a difference to the lives of people who think they don't matter anymore.

[The Clinic of Change would like to thank Sara for her courage in sharing her story and for her generosity in helping others to seek help].
