Sexuality and Sexual Dysfunctions

Clinical evaluation and
specialized follow-up

Sexuality is a fundamental part of health and identity, but it remains one of the most difficult topics to discuss.

Many people live for years with sexual difficulties that affect their self-esteem, relationships, and well-being, even though, in most cases, effective treatment is available.

At The Clinic of Change, we approach sexuality in a clinical, compassionate, and non-judgmental manner.

Quando a sexualidade se
torna um problema

  • Do you feel anxiety, fear, or pressure related to intimacy?
  • Do you experience persistent difficulty with sexual desire, arousal, or pleasure?
  • Do you avoid intimacy for fear of failing or feeling frustrated?

Procurar apoio não é um sinal de fraqueza, mas um passo de cuidado
consigo e com a relação.

O que são
Disfunções Sexuais

Sexual dysfunctions are persistent difficulties that interfere with desire, arousal, orgasm, or sexual satisfaction.

  • Erectile dysfunction
  • Premature ejaculation or other ejaculatory disorders
  • Decreased or absent sexual desire
  • Difficulty reaching orgasm
  • Pain during sexual intercourse

They can affect both men and women at any stage of life and are much more common than people realize. They do not indicate a lack of ability, attraction, or interest in one’s partner.

Fatores que influenciam
a resposta sexual

Sexuality is influenced by physical, psychological, and relational factors. Performance anxiety, depression, stress, and even certain medications can significantly interfere with sexual response.

Unrealistic expectations created by pornography and social media can also contribute to insecurity and frustration.

Avaliação clínica
da sexualidade

Understanding the problem without taboos

The follow-up begins with a thorough clinical assessment, conducted in a safe and confidential setting, which allows for an understanding of the difficulty, the factors involved, and the emotional and relational impact, thereby determining the most appropriate course of treatment.

n Therapeutic Approach

Based on the assessment, follow-up may include:

  • Individual or couples psychotherapy
  • A specific study on anxiety and related emotions
  • Psychiatric follow-up, when indicated
  • Therapeutic adjustments to preserve sexual function

O objetivo é tratar a causa do problema e promover uma vivência sexual
mais saudável e satisfatória.

Em que casos este acompanhamento
pode fazer sentido

  • Persistent sexual difficulties
  • Personal or relationship-related distress
  • Avoidance of intimacy
  • Seeking a serious, non-judgmental clinical approach
